November is Lung Month

We breathe 22,000 times each day – and if you have lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, or sinus difficulties, this can create a major impact on the quality of your life. According to the Canadian Lung Association, and the Conference Board of Canada and Statics Canada, lung problems cost our economy $12 billion a year and $3.4 billion in direct costs for physician, medications and hospitalizations. Last year approximately 26, 100 Canadians were diagnosed with lung cancer.

One of the best ways to stop lung problems is by making sure the air you breathe is not toxic. Here are some ways:

  • Have your home checked for radon gas, a known cause of lung cancer.
  • Stop smoking as it contributes to lung cancer.
  • Do not exercise in high traffic areas
  • Keep your house at 40% humidity. A dry environment will irritate the mucous membrane of the sinuses, lungs, and throat.

If all these fail please see me to open the lung and large intestine meridians.
